Chocolate Quark Mousse
Experience a perfect dessert with our velvety, rich chocolate mousse that is surprisingly light and packed with protein. Utilizing quark, this recipe delivers a thick, creamy texture without the need for heavy cream or eggs, making it a guilt-free, high-protein, and beautiful dessert option. Our quark adds a slight tang that cuts through the richness of the chocolate. Best of all, it's simple to make!
Ingredients
- 12 oz PLF Quark Cheese
- 6 oz (approximately one cup) dark or bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon OR orange zest (optional)
Instructions
- Melt chocolate chips either in a hot water bath over the stove or in the microwave. We use the microwave, stopping to mix the chocolate every 30 seconds until smoothly melted.
- Set aside melted chocolate.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk quark for a minute or two until it lightens and fluffs up a bit.
- Whisk in cinnamon or orange zest (optional)
- Whisk in melted chocolate. Whisk until mixture is thick, fluffy and well combined.
- Chill for a few hours or overnight. You can top it with shaved chocolate, your favorite berries or a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
